AwardsOne of the good traditions of the Russian Bar is to honor the most respectable and dignitary colleagues A number of corporate awards have been established in order to encourage lawyers and legal practices, set high standards for the advocate’s profession and contribute to the development of the Bar as an effective civil society institution.
The most prestigious award is the High National Award, established in 2007 upon the initiative of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers. Its winners are lawyers and legal practices that achieved outstanding results in their professional activity.
The High National Award has three categories: “For Honor and Dignity”, “Triumph” and “Business Reputation”. The number of winners determined by the Committee on Conferral is strictly limited. The award ceremony is held no more than once in two years and is a milestone event not only in the life of the advocate community, but also in social life as a whole. In different years, Semyon Ariya, Genrikh Padva, Taisiya Lempets and other masters of the Russian Bar became winners of the Award. In 1996, the F.N. Plevako Gold Medal, the oldest award in the history of the contemporary Bar, was established upon the initiative of the Guild of Russian Advocates. In 1998, the “Honorary Lawyer of Russia” award pin was registered. After the establishment of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers, which actively participates in the work of the Committee for Conferring the Plevako Advocate Awards, the Plevako Gold Medal obtained the status of a corporate-wide award. Later in 2003, the F.N. Plevako Silver Medal and the Diploma with the presentation of the F.N. Plevako Bronze Bust were established in addition to it.
Each F.N. Plevako award ceremony is a demonstration of unity of the advocate corporation, professionalism, commitment to the high ideals of law, humanism and justice. To encourage the most creative and professional colleagues who demonstrate excellent examples of advocate’s art and loyalty to corporate traditions, the Federal Chamber of Lawyers established a number of awards such as the order “For Fidelity to the Advocate’s Duty”, as well as the 1st and 2nd class medals “For Merits in the Protection of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms”.
The order “For Fidelity to the Advocate’s Duty” is awarded to persons who have a continuous record of advocate’s activity of at least 20 years. The 1st class medal “For Merits in the Protection of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms” is awarded to lawyers with a continuous record of advocate’s activity of at least 15 years. The 2nd class medal “For Merits in the Protection of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms” is awarded to lawyers with a continuous record of at least 10 years.
To celebrate the anniversary of the Russian Bar, the Federal Chamber of Lawyers established a lapel pin and a table decoration “150 Years of the Russian Bar”. The lapel pin is issued in the amount of 2000 pieces, the table decoration – in the amount of five hundred pieces. Each decoration has its unique number.
